Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (13 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No serious cause is usually detected

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

chest pain that lasts for seconds is very rarely of serious aetiology. Most of the times nothing can be found even after extensive investigation (when investigated) and the symptom is attributed to anxiety.

The only "organic" cause of pain that is possible for such a short duration is pain caused by pressure to nerve roots that transfer sensations of the chest area. Such pressure could be caused for example by a slipped intervertebral disc.

Other (very rare) causes are possible like degenerative diseases that is diseases that cause damage to neurons.

If the pain lasted only for seconds and no other associated symptoms were present, you can be almost certain that nothing serious is going on.

I hope I've helped!
If you'd like more details, please describe your symptom as completely as possible include information about the exact location, reflection to other locations, what caused it (if you've identified any cause) etc

Kind Regards!
