Question: I am post menopausal and I have slight bleeding. I use long cotton swabs to determine the source of my bleeding. It seems to be coming from the top of the vagina - cervix. Could the swabs be causing my bleeding?

Brief Answer:
Swabs not causing bleeding

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I understand that you have postmenopausal bleeding.

Upper part of vagina and cervix bleeding means bleeding probably from erosion in cervix which is commonly seen in postmenopausal bleeding in women.

I appreciate you have tried to find cause by keeping swab. Let me reassure you that swab has not caused bleeding. This bleeding is probably due to cervical erosion.

You need to get examined by a gynecologist for erosion who will take a papsmear also along with it.
