Suggest Remedy For Sharp Pain In Groin Area

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Dec 2015
Question: hello, I have sharp pain in my left groin area, especially after sitting. I do have varicose veins around my left knee and up my inner thigh. But I don't have redness or warmth in the area that I have pain. After a time of standing up, the sharp pain goes away, but then it is there in a more dull fashion. What could this be and what type of doctor should I go to to check it out? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Might be inguinal hernia,

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have gone through your query. Can you provide additional information.
Is there any swelling in the groin region
Is there increase in intensity of pain on coughing.
Is there any appearance of swelling on coughing.

Based on the information provided by you, it might be hernia, even though it is less common in female when compared to male, but it can occur. An examination is required for diagnosing it, so I would suggest you to see general surgeon for examination and evaluation.

Hope this helps.
I'll be glad to address your further queries.
Take care.
