I have been likes this since for about 8 months only it was not as so severe at the begining, however I have lost 16 pounds. I have had a colonoscopy which showed that I had a lot of iflammation in the bowel, and they advised me that I had IBS and chronic colitis. I have had other test , a CAT scan and e-ray of stomach . They said they had seen some nodes on pancrease and one in lower abdomen , but further scan said they were no longer there. I seem to be getting worse . I am also an insulin dependent diabetic on Novo Rapid and Lantus. Take medication for high blood pressure and angina.. I wish I could feel better. I* also have 16 steel clips in stomach that were left there when I had gall bladder surgery 25 years ago . Could that be giving me problems to

Yes biopsy of the colon was done and was negative . I do remember now he said
that one part of my bowel was small where it shouldn't be and feces built up there causing constipation and then diarreah . no medication was given. only told to take
probiotics and laxatives, which I don't take. It sounds foolish to me to take laxatives when you are having diarreah all the time.

Brief Answer:
Constipation with overflow incontinence

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
From what your doctor has said, it looks like you have constipation with overflow incontinence. That's why he has prescribed laxatives.
The overflow incontinence is what you see as diarrhea.
Stool softeners/laxatives may be taken as suggested by your doctor.

Since you have inflammation also you can take a course of rifaximin along with probiotics.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
