Brief Answer:
Test stools complete examination including reducing substances

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Usually loose stools and vomiting is viral infection at this age.
No need to worry.

Taxim o is antibiotic which may have been given by your doctor as he might have found evidence for bacterial infection on clinical examination.
What I usually recommend for such kids in my clinic
1. Probiotic like bifilac one XXXXXXX twice daily for 3 days
2. Zinc drops 1 ml once daily for 14 days.
3. Ors solution like electral in sips frequently every 15 minutes.
4. Avoid milk.
Ensure he passes urine atleast six to eight times a day.
This will indicate that the hydration is being maintained.
5. Get stool test complete. Including reducing substances. If positive needs lactose free milk like isomil.

If he becomes dull with poor intake and less urine consult with your pediatrician immediately.
Wishing your son good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
