Brief Answer:
Tonsillitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Its likely to be a throat infection. If its unilateral with pain experienced upon opening mouth or swallowing then it points towards acute tonsillitis. Ibuprofen and salt gargles are fine as symptomatic treatment but she needs her throat to be examined by a GP or ENT doctor to advise antibiotics if bacterial infection is suspected. Throat swab for culture should be taken and antibiotics can be started empirically, adjusted then according to the culture reports.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
