Suggest Remedy For Pain Caused By Tight Foreskin Post Penile Retraction After Intercourse

default
Posted on Fri, 6 Nov 2015
Question: After participating in intercourse, is is habitual and mandatory for me to retract the foreskin and wash it with water. As such, the problem is that while retracting the foreskin it is painful. I observed the difference, it is only in the foreskin not the penis. If I leave it for two or three days, it is becoming normal without any medication on its own. My partner is having absolutely no problem. What could be the problem. I am 49 years, till now not reported diabetic or high BP and physique and normal health is good , absolutely without any problem except this for the last 10, 15 days.
Please suggest what it could be..?

Brief Answer:
Pain or discomfort is minimal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i can assure you, there's nothing to worry about.
Maintaining good penile hygiene is a healthy habit.
After intercourse, the tight foreskin and penis becomes lax, from it's previous rigid state in erection.
Then due to decongestion, there's mininmal, swelling penile skin, which occasionally may cause discomfort on immediate retraction.
That won't last for a longer period later, neither affects the penis in any way.
This is experienced by many, without any worry.
Hope your doubt is cleared.

But Sir,

How to get rid of the pain, shall it be left to mitigate on its own in two three days time or to go for any medication as, as told by a Doctor long back, I made it a habit to wash retracting the foreskin every time I visit bath room. while retracting in one position, it is very painful after that it is normal. Till now we being Hindus, never thought of going for Circumcission, but will it be required now? And if so, at age 49, is it advisable? Otherwise suggest me medication.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Circumcision only if tight foreskin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
As you've mentioned it's present only in the last 10-15 days, circumcision isn't a treatment.
Circumcision should be considered, only if you've difficulty in retracting the foreskin completely up the shaft of the penis.
A simpler option is to wait for about 15-20 minutes after sex, by which time, the foreskin would have become more lax, and then retract it fully for washing.
Your pain would also disappear.
If that's difficult, then you need to get it checked by an Urologist.
If indicated, circumcision is a routine procedure, done as a day case.
Wish you well.

As suggested, I left it for half an hour after the intercourse, and gone for washing. In fact it is a little bit more time. I felt the comfort relatively. But the thing is there is still discomfort and this time my partner is telling that there is itching sensation, which was never before, in her inner organs. And day by day it is mitigating. I would like to have some medication be it medicines or ointment like thing so that it will mitigate completely. Though educated well, there will be certain problems attending a doctor especially with regard to genetalia. When the foreskin is retracted, at a certain position, the skin appears to be strained and that causing the pain. After crossing that, absolutely, there is no problem either to retract fully or to close the penis with forskin(forward direction). Hope Sir, you understand and suggest medication. In exceptional cases we will definitely go to that doctor.

Thanking you.

Brief Answer:
Must have a check-up for both partners.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
As i mentioned earlier, only an examination, of your difficulty in retraction of foreskin, can really advise you correctly.
Especially, if your sexual partner is experiencing itching, she must get examined, by a gynecologist, and you must have a check-up with an Urologist.
If you go with reports of certain tests, it'll help the Urologist, in advising you properly. These tests are VDRL,HbsAg,and HIVand blood sugar.
Wish you well.
