Question: I am a 72-year-old female. For about two years I've had numbness of my face, especially mouth with severe burnig sensations; incuding tongue and entire inside of mouth. Affects taste and speech. Primary care doc and neurologist reviewed MRI of brain and find no reason for it.

Brief Answer:
Vitamins deficiencies

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient with this clinical history,I would have told you that most likely cause of your symptoms is vitamins deficiencies, especially in setting of no apparent focal neurological deficit.

I would have prescribed you multivitamins and antioxidants tablets supplementation and advised to follow-up a month later.

I suggest you the same here.
Further, please get a blood sugar(fasting) done to rule out Diabetes.

If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
