Brief Answer:
It is not unusual for your period to become irregular in your 40s

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and i hope I can help you today.

If you never missed a period before in your lifetime and you are 44 years old, you are an exception. Many factors can make a woman miss her period, from weight changes, stress and age-related hormone changes. Even the stress of worrying about getting pregnant can delay your cycle.

Prenatal vitamins do not affect your hormones, so it is not possible for that to be the reason you skipped your menses.

I would recommend continuing to take your vitamins and wait a few weeks and see what happens. If you still do not get your period and you desire pregnancy it may be reasonable to consult with a GYN doctor or infertility specialist for some hormone tests. They can give you medication to restart your period and hopefully help you to get pregnant

If you strongly desire pregnancy and you do not conceive after 6 months of trying I recommend seeing a fertility specialist for consultation regardless of what happens with your period.

I hope that I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me, otherwise, thank you for using my services and healthcaremagic.com

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
