Question: I had my teeth and gums deep cleaned Tuesday, after being unable to go to the dentist for over a year. My jaw is understandable sore, but I feel exhausted and headachy and my cheek bones ache like I'm having sinus issues... Not sure what to do!

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic,
I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad I will explain things to you so that you can be guided in a better way.

It is a common incident of having inflammation in mouth around gums or cheeks so this in my opinion is not an issue.

It is not a common thing for an inflammation to extend to sinuses this is a rate incidence. In my opinion you have got inflammation in the mouth which is making you feel pained and lethargic , here are a few things you can do about it.

1) Dont panic things are expected to get better.
2) Look at your mouth's inside closely if there is any pus or redness any where.
3) If your head goes to ground level like in prostration and this increases pain then it can be a sinus otherwise much less likely.
4) Take tablet tylenol 500mg thrice a day to relieve pain and inflammation if twice a day works for you then its always better to lose lesser dose of medicine if its benefiting enough.
5) You can use oral pain releief gel like somogel etc to releive inflammation.
6) Any NSAID mouth gargles can help big time.
7) If these measures dont make you feel better or things keep or getting worsened, I would suggest you to immediately contact your doctor he might wanna run some tests or blood works and you might need some prescription medication in that case.

Everything should be fine 2-3 days with ways i suggested.

I hope this was if help, if you have more questions please feel free to ask.

Regards.
Dr.Muhammad Ahmad.
