Suggest Remedy For Dry Cough Along With Severe Pain In Throat
Question: Past couple of weeks i've had a cough it gets better and worse. It's adry hacking cough with no phlegm and a bit painful on the lower throat area and now my stomach. I stress evrytime I cough. I had a cold a couple of weeks ago and its' when I first saw the cough begin. I have no other symptoms not even a fever. It'susually mild during the day but alot worse early in the morning or at night when I lay in bed. I have no trouble breathing through my mouth but some trouble through my nose. Plus some itchiness in the scalp area.

when someone with this dry cough weeks after a cold comes to my office i think about a so called hyperactive bronchial syndrome, which happens sometimes after a cold and is cause by a (athma-like) sort of inflammation that is non viral or bacterial.
Usually a mild cortisone spray helps in that case. Please discuss this with your local gp or lung doctor.

Thank you for answering my question. At first I thought it I was allergic to something but what you said seems right. It was after a cold and the "tickle" seems to come from underneath the XXXXXXX apple (trachea). Could this dry cough be also the reason the right side of my stomach hurts? I seem to strain every time I cough, also gives me headaches. Is this spray sold over the counter or Do I need a prescription? No symptoms of anything but the cough and pain when I cough

the pain in the right abdomen might be from sore muscles from coughing. In germany the spray is perscription drug, i am assuming it is the same in the US, but regulations vary so you can ask in the pharmacy.
