Brief Answer:
Take antacids (pantoprazole) for symtomatic relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Health Care Magic,

I have read your query and understand the concern.

Feeling boated in stomach or gas forming in stomach with mild pain could be related to acute gastritis or gastroenteritis but it needs further evaluation by clinical examination and various tests to have confirmed diagnosis if the symptoms do not subside with symptomatic treatment.

But before going for further evaluation,I would like to suggest some medications and dietary precautions to your friend to get relieved from this bloating and pain.

1) Take Proton pump inhibitors like Tab PANTOPRAZOLE 40 mg twice daily before food and syrup DIGENE 2 TSF three times a day which are available over the counter but if possible avoid NSAIDs pain killers or doing so, may cause further bloating or gas trouble.

2) Avoid hot, oily and spicy foods rather take bland diet for initial few days.

3) Avoid eating full stomach one at a time rather take small and frequent meals and have soft diet only for next 2 to 3 days.

4) Take salads (cucumber, cabbage, carrot, beat) in every meal , take more vegetables.

5) Quit alcohol he takes.

6) Walk slowly after every meal but do not walk fast. Avoid taking rest immediately after meal.

Continue with the medications (bifilac, citron, ofla oz) which he is taking at right now as prescribed by doctor.

I expect that he will start improving within 3 to 5 days but if your problem persists then I will advice to see physician or gastro physician who can order various tests and can come to a particular diagnosis and start the treatment.

Hope this will help and if there is any more query then you can ask me.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
