Question: Hello,
I got a small boil in my right thigh at the junction of thigh and private part. The boil has ruptured and now its in the process of drying. There is a small part from where over the boil the blood comes and its taking time to dry as there is friction in private part.
I am using Neosporin powder.
Can you please help me with any medicine which can heal it fast. Its now 4 days.
Thanks,
XXXX

Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. It appears that your boil is resolving and the pus mixed with blood is discharging from the wound.

2. It is good that you are taking care of the area and also applying neosporin powder to prevent infection.

3. For faster healing please avoid friction between the wound and the skin and you might wear cotton inner clothes to prevent sweat formation.

4. If you were my patient and the boil was small then I would have considered giving you medicine containing serratiopeptidase 10 mg, diclofenac sodium 50 mg combination twice daily after food for 5 days. This causes early healing and pain relief and is available at the pharmacy.

5. If there is significant discharge containing blood and pus then it might require short course of oral antibiotics and surgical incision and drainage for which you have to consult the doctor.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr.Vivek

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

There are many brands having same medicine, one popular name is TOLPA-D tablet and contains diclofenac 50 mg, serratiopeptidase 10 mg. It is manufactured by Micro Labs Ltd and you can take twice daily after food when required.

If the pharmacy does not have this brand then any other brand with same medicine can also be taken. Please confirm the medicine when purchasing and read expiry date.

Hope your query is answered.
