Question: hi I'm having memory problems. I find it hard to concentrate on my work assignments. I also think I have depression. Lost my dad to cancer in 2009 and it still affects me.

From what you describe, you may indeed have depression. Symptoms of depression include poor concentration, decreased energy, and slowing of cognition. You have a pretty clear precipitant in 2009, which must have been devastating.

A doctor will be able to evaluate you for depression, and to test your memory via a MMSE or MoCA cognitive exam. The results will let us know how best to proceed.

Depression is a very treatable illness. Antidepressants such as Zoloft and Lexapro are very effective. Have hope, as this will get better.
