Suggest Remedies For Insect Bites All Over The Body

Question: My 7 year old daughter has over a hundred bites on various parts of her body after being at my apartment for 3 plus days. The bites have a lot of red around them; they do not look like flea bites. I have lived in my apartment for over 3 months and have never been bitten. I got a dog for her 6 weeks ago; I took the dog to the vet and the vet could not find any fleas. Help!

Brief Answer:
Acute urticaria

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
It is looking like acute urticaria an allergic reaction.
She might be allergic to dog's hair or any other thing in your flat.
It is not looking like flea bite.
I treat such cases with a topical steroid cream like cortisone to be applied twice daily for a week and an antihistamine syrup like cetrizine to be taken daily once for the same duration.
This should help her.
Try to find out the casuative thing and keep her away from that.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thanks

She has been to my apartment many times before and has not had any reaction. She loves the dog very much and loves to cuddle with the dog; she has done that hundreds of times since I got the dog on September 2nd. She even allows the dog to lick her. She has slept with the dog about nine nights and she had no reaction until this past weekend. If she was allergic to dog hair or something in my apartment, wouldn't she have had the allergic reaction many weeks ago? We came in contact with some other dogs at a dog park on Friday; could she be allergic to another dog but not to hers?

Brief Answer:
Continue with antihistamine

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
Yes she could be allergic to other dogs.
Allergy can be due to anything and it varies from person to person.
It might be a single instance of contact which caused this allergy.
Continue with antihistamine and topical steroid for a week.
She should recover with that.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
