Brief Answer:
Usually it takes a week.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

It all depends how advanced are the changes in the stomach and esophagus. Once you block the stomach acid production, the healing must take some time. It lasts at least a week. By this time you should see at least some improvement. If not, that the medicines you have been prescribed might be ineffective.
It is also possible that you have H.Pylori infection. If so, without antibiotic you wont see any improvement at all.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
No OTC medicines.

Detailed Answer:
Not really. Sukralfat would be a good medicine (as it usually works instantly by covering the stomach mucosa) but it is Rx only.

Brief Answer:
Another endoscopy should be done in a month or so.

Detailed Answer:
Just if the infection wont be confirmed, please remember to have another endoscopy done in a month or so. Also if the symptoms will be recurring, please remember that there is a surgical procedure (done laparoscopicaly) which can set you from from the symptoms.
