Suggest Remedies For Continuous Plaque Deposition On The Inner Aspect Of Teeth

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Mar 2016
Question: I met an accident few weeks before and got some facial injuries. All treatment is done and currently my tooth are wired & rubber banded. I take all food in liquid form via straw. Problem is that because I am not able to brush my teeth from inside hence a layer has started collecting on the inner side of all teeth. I can feel this with my tongue.

Is there any way to get rid of this layer from teeth, I am already using Betadine gargle and a mouthwash. Any suggestion is appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Wait for the arch bars and wired to get removed, continue mouthwash gargles

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you are being treated for some fracture in the jaw bone via Intermaxillary fixation using arch bars..
As the teeth are wired and you are not able to open your mouth to brush your teeth there is continuous deposition of plaque over the inner aspect of teeth..
This is what you are feeling as a layer on the inner aspects of teeth..
But as there is a limitation to mouth opening, you will have to bear with it and as of now no attempts can be made to remove the layer..
As of now continue doing mouthwash gargles..
You should also gargle with warm saline solution and also always immediately gargle with water after you take any liquid food..
Once the arch bars will be removed you can get the scaling done and it will remove the deposits forming layer from the teeth and you will feel fine..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
