Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: My daughter and I were sitting in the back yard when a fruit fly flew by her face. We swatted it away but
to me it looked like it went up her nose. She said she didn't feel anything strange. Anything we should worry about or do.

Follow the Advises..

Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxxxx, Welcome to HCM..

I've gone through your query and understand your concern..

Now it's a really troublesome situation, as fruit fly, being really small can easily get pass the nasal passage and get deeper..but please be assured that if it gets in the Gastric tract, then by now it's already dead due to the high acid content of our stomach and if it's somehow got stuck in the nasal passage then by now your daughter should've exhibit some symptoms(i.e. feeling of anything stuck in side the nose, excessive sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath and other allergic responses )..

Since she's symptomless so I don't think you should worry too much about this, however do keep an eye on her well-being and if you notice any of those alarming signs then you can take her to your nearest ENT specialist for an examination under direct visualization and management accordingly..

Take Care
Kind Regards
