There is a test called Liver function test which checks for any possible drug induced liver damage. You can get it done .

Regarding your pain abdomen , I need to know more about it .

1. Since how long you are having it ?
2. Where exactly over the abdomen you have the pain ?
3. What is the character of the pain ? Burning / Pricking or squeezing ?
4. Do you have any vomiting or loose motions ?

#2-answer: Just below my rib cage

#3-answer: tight aching pain seems to be always there and becomes worse when I stretch or expand my chest

You said the pain is just below your rib cage , but is it on right or left side or both sides ? Kindly let me know.

Since the pain is there for 2 months , I would recommend you to get an Ultrasound Abdomen scan in addition to Liver function test.

Then it is most likely due to Liver infection or due to stones in gall bladder.
