Brief Answer:
Dosing in pediatric age group is based on weight

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

The drug dosing in children is based on weight. Weight of a 3 year old child can differ from the weight of a age matched child.
The average weight of 3 year old child is about 13-15 kgs.
Similarly the dose of any drug is also not fixed. Usually there is a range of dosing and it depends on the severity of the disease and on individual metabolism.
The Dolo contains paracetamol (120 mg/5 ml)and the dose of paracetamol is 10-15 mg/kg/dose. It can be given 3-6 times a day depending on the severity. The dose for your kid will be (assuming he is of average weight and fever is moderate)around 6 ml three times a day.
The frisium contains clobazam and is used in seizure or prophylaxis of febrile seizure(more common indication). The dose ranges from 0.3-1 mg/kg/day at bed time. In case of seizure disorder it has to be taken for long duration while in case of prophylaxis it should be taken for 2-3 days.As this is not a first line medication for seizure,I assume it be febrile seizure in your case. The dose for your kid will be 5 mg at bed time.
Lupibend contains albendazole(deworming agent) and the dose is 400 mg above 2 years of age.
All these are prescription medicines and it should be prescribed according to weight of baby so I would suggest you to get them prescribed by a pediatrician.

Sir,

Thanks for your reply,

I have one query on albendazole. For a 3 year old (14 Kg weight), should we give 400 mg syrup in one strech (10 ml)? At what interval do we need to give this medicine?

Brief Answer:
400 mg(10 ml) single dose

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome again

As a deworming agent Albendazole is advised to be taken as 400 mg(10 ml or one tablet) once (single dose) at bed time. As when taken with food its absorption increases, it is better to take after meal.

Brief Answer:
The recommendation is of single dose

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome again

The worm infestation is a common problem in low socioeconomic group due to poor hygiene. There are various studies about the dosing frequency but the recommendation is of single dose only, as a deworming agent.
Some physician prescribe it at an interval of 3-6 months due to increased prevalence and minimal side effect of the medicine.
In my practice I repeat the dose only when the clinical finding is suggestive or the patient is of lower strata.
I would suggest you to follow the advise of your pediatrician.
Regards
