Is Vitamin B6 Level Of 122.2 A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Fri, 22 Jan 2016
Question: I have previously posted questions on this site and after numerous test have been told that I suffer from vitamin B6 toxicity possibly from taking a vitamin supplement which contained 50 mgs of vitamin B6. My levels should have been 2.1 to 21.7 and my level was 122.2. I stopped taking the supplement 5 weeks ago and can't say that I feel much better although I do feel some better. Is there anything I can do to flush the B6 out of my body and improve my symptoms? Currently I suffer from drowsiness, peripheral neuropathy, some slight dizziness, pressure both ears, ringing in my left ear and dull headaches.

Brief Answer:
B6 levels not toxic. Symptoms due to inner ear pathology

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. I want you to know that just 50 mg of vitamin B is not toxic . It takes at least 1000 mg in a day for vitamin B 6 intake to be neurotoxic. 122.2 is just a normal range of vitamin B6. WHat you hear as adverse effects of vitamin B 6 those are due to deficiency and not slight increase. As i mentioned earlier it takes 800 times of faily food intake of b6 to be toxic which is very unlikely.

Just stop the b6 supplements which you already did, you dont need them. The drowsiness, ringing in ear, pressure in ear and dizziness all points towards ear pathology likely tinnitus. Talk t an otorhinolaryngologist, let them run some labs and sort it out for you.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
