Brief Answer:
It depends

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

High blood pressure causes chronic damage to the blood vessels and organs. Acute damage is unlikely unless there is an aneurysm (an abnormally dilated blood vessel), congestive heart failure or severe coronary artery disease. In cases like the aforementioned ones the patient may be in immediate danger during sudden blood pressure levels elevation. Aneurysms may rupture, a "tired" heart may fail to push the blood properly and occluded coronary arteries may be insufficient to provide oxygen to the heart. All of the above are very serious conditions (and potentially fatal).

If none of the above problems fit your case then having real problems with your blood pressure is unlikely, although it can't be excluded. First of all your blood vessels are not in their best condition due to your age and nobody can exclude the presence of an aneurysm or coronary artery disease, since age is the most important factor for it.

I would suggest managing your blood pressure with your doctor first, just to stay on the safe side.
The anxiety you mentioned won't help! Perhaps you should consider taking a mild anxiolytic before the procedure.

I hope I've helped!
