Is Swimming Advisable While Having Burns On The Back?

default
Posted on Thu, 7 Jul 2016
Question: Yes...not a big deal but.. my heating pad didn't go off while I was sleeping and I have an area on my back that was burned... it has been a week...the skin of course came off...didn't go to dr. because I just returned home from a trip I was on.. only hurts when something rubs on it.. covered it with gauze..can I return to swimming in the pool tomorrow (haven't done so all week) I did have an urgent care nurse look at it and she said it would heal in time. I just got home and put an anti biotic cream on it today.. (Neosporin). Is there anything else I should do.. and how long before it heals thank you.. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Supportive care, no swimming till full wound healing

Detailed Answer:
Thank yo for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. heating pad burns should be managed conservatively with topical antibiotics coverage and going to swimming before complete healing is not wise and risky for infection. I would recommend wait and see, healing time varies and depends on alot of factors including age. i would suggest wait for a week at least more and continue using the topical antibiotics creams.
I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
