Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and after reviewing what other eminent Physicians of respective field of Medicine have to say about the semen analysis, I'm of the following opinion:

1. High semen viscosity could either be due to simple dehydration or because of an infection in the prostate, which causes low sperm mobility and increase in the liquefaction time [Normal 20 - 30 minutes].

PS. As for liquefaction the enzymes are produced by prostate so a long liquefaction time might indicate an infection or dysfunction of the prostate, one should take an appointment with an Urologist to exclude any other cause of the same

2. As in his case it is more than 1 hour which impairs the sperm ability to reach egg and eventually unable to fertilize it.

3. Apart from medicine other things to incorporate is/are:

. maintain proper hydration
. avoid alcohol/caffeine/tobacco
. Maintain ideal body weight
. Avoid undue mental stress
. Avoid high temperature [tight clothing,bike riding,hot shower]

4. Ashwagandha is best regarded as an adaptogen with aphrodisiac properties, which may be due to increased interstitial cell stimulating hormone and testosterone like effects as well as induction of nitric oxide synthetase also due to Anti stressor properties [due to GABA- mimetic activity].

As single drug Aswhagandha capsule contains either
- 250 mg or [twice daily]
500 mg of root extract [once daily]

5. Ashwagandha alone will not improve the sperm motility since we have to stimulate the micro circulation also for which we have one very good herbal product [certified by AYUSH] which contains Ashwagandha, Arjuna, Vidarikand, Kesar, Safed til in capsule form [with effective results], If interested I can courier you the medicine.
