Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Plan-B?

default
Posted on Tue, 4 Jul 2017
Question: Hi. I had unprotected sex on the 14th day of my period. I realized I could be ovulating a little too late. I usually have a 28 day cycle. But last period I was four days late. I took Plan B less than 12hrs after. I'm four days away from my period and I feel really weird. Is it possible the Plan B didn't take or am I just worrying too much?

Brief Answer:
Side effect of the pill

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy or as a side effect of the plan B.
If you had taken within 24 hours of unprotected intercourse, then there are almost nil chances of pregnancy.
I will suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test done.
If negative, then you can safely wait for the periods for another 2-3 weeks.
Then the delayed periods are due to the side effectof the pill.
Hope found the answer helpful.

Thank you. We had sex twice and both times he pulled out. But since I was either ovulating or close to ovulating I thought I better be safe. Especially since I started massage therapy for my uterus this last month due to my rough periods. She had warned me that this therapy could increase my fertillation so I am worried that the pill didn't take for some reason. I feel nauseous but that could be from the pill, right? I have three more days to go until my period is officially late.

Brief Answer:
Nausea due to the pill

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Yes dear, the nausea is most likely due to the pill.
The chances of pregnancy are nil if you have taken within 12 hours.
