Brief Answer:
It is extremely unlikely to be pelvic inflammatory disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Health Care Magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Cleocin is the treatment for Gardenerella. Since you are a celibate and you do not have any other symptoms, pelvic pain that you have is extremely unlikely to be due to pelvic inflammatory disease.

Did you have an ultrasound of pelvis? There are many reasons for pelvic pain. It could be due to ovarian cyst, fibroids, etc. It may be due to intestinal problems too.

Therefore if gynecology examination with ultrasound has not found any cause then consult surgeon if the pain persists after completing the course of Cleocin.

I hope this is helpful.

If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Regards,
Dr Rama

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Good to know that ultrasound and CT are normal.
If you have already seen a gastroenterologist then there is no need to see a surgeon.

Since how long you have this pelvic pain. Do you have increased frequency of urination or burning during urination? Urinary tract infection can also cause pelvic pain. Do you have any lumbar disc problem.

As of now I feel it could just be pelvic discomfort due to vaginal infection. Let us wait until you complete the course of antibiotics. The pain should subside by then.

If you have further queries do write to me.

Dr Rama

UTI symptoms, but again all tests for that as well as cultures normal.
This has been going on for 16 months, my third course of cleocin! Have taken several courses of amoxicilin, as well as yeast creams! I wonder if additional pelvic pain could be from break up with fiance? is this possible?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

Since urine culture does not test for all organisms, the culture may be negative sometimes in the presence of infection.

If you have symptoms of infection then please discuss with your doctor and take a different course of antibiotics like Nitrofurantoin, Cephalosporins etc.

Reading all your questions I feel that low oestrogen levels may be partly responsible for your symptoms.

If the internal examination shows, atrophic vaginal mucosa discuss with your doctor and use vaginal esterogen cream.

Any chronic pain gets exaggerated with emotional stress.

If you have further queries, do write to me.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
