Brief Answer:
of possible ingredients only acetaminophen is safe

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

May not be safe to use.

There are different types of dayquil eg dayquil cough, dayquil cold/flu, dayquil severe cold and flu, dayquil mucus

The possible ingredients in these different types are acetaminophen, guaifenesin, phenyephrine, dextromethorphan.
If the type being used has different ingredients then you can let me know and will check them.
Out of these only acetaminophen (tylenol) is essentially known to be safe.

The other ingredients mentioned are pregnancy category C- animal studies have shown problems though there are no adequate medical studies on human . Because animals have had issues, only use this category if absolutely necessary.

She can use tylenol to help with any pain.

Saline nose drops or spray to help with nasal congestion.

Steam inhalation and/or humidifier to help with congestion as well.

Mucomyst is a mucolytic (helps to break up mucus so that is comes out easier). This is category b , so it can be used to help break up any mucus on the chest and nose.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
