Is Blood Pressure Value Of 100/60 A Cause For Concern?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Nov 2015
Question: My wife is reporting low blood pressure (100/60) for last 2 days. Her periods also started at same time. She recalls that in last period also she had the same problem but can't confirm. She is feeling low in energy, has headache and feels giddiness. She often gets into this low BP and low energy state. She complains of headache for almost every other day. She also says that even though it's second day, period bleeding is not enough. Is there any problem with respect to periods that is also leading to low BP? What should we do?

Brief Answer:
Tests advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir, thanks for trusting health care magic.
It is not common but yes there can be an association between the two and is more often seen in patients who have severe pain in periods and in thyroid disorders.
I would like to ask for certain tests viz - Complete blood count, thyroid hormone levels, fasting blood sugar and serum creatinine levels.
Get the above tests done and then we can plan further management.
