Brief answer....there can be various reasons for low WBC
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
This is definitely a serious matter which needs to be investigated into because WBC are a natural weapon produced by your body to ward of various infections like bacteriàl,viral and other germs. If they are low,it means you are immunocompromised and can get various infections.
The reason could be that either WBC are being destroyed in body or not being produced in enough quantity in your bone marrow.
Causes include...
From bone marrow diseases to aplastic anaemia to leukemia and even AIDS.
Other reasons can include autoimmune diseases like SLE,rheumatoid arthritis etc.
Low WBC can also be caused by various drugs like anticonvulsants, chemotherapy, antibiotics, barbiturates etc.
You should not take it lightly and consult a Hematologist for detailed investigations to find the cause. Proper treatment can be offered only after finding the cause.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Hello,
Your symptoms suggest a viral infection. Viral infections are known to lower WBC count.
In your case it appears to be most likely an infection mononucleosis caused by Epstein Barr virus, however your doctor would be in a better situation to tell about it.
Thanks
