Brief Answer:
I suggests to take statins and fenofibrate to my patients.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I have gone through your findings in detail.
Findings suggests altered lipid profile.
Cholesterol and triglyceride level are high with borderline high LDL level.

With these findings I suggest my patients to take combination of statins (atorvastatin 10 mg) and fenofibrate 160 mg single tablet at night after dinner. This helps in better control of lipids.

Besides taking medicines,I also suggest diet and life style modification to my patients. You should be active in your daily life and avoid red meat and high fat milk products.
Cook food in olive or canola oil.
You should also avoid fried and junk food.
Take lot of fruits and vegetables and increase your physical activity in the form of walking and exercise.

Ultrasound of abdomen can also be done.

Hope I have answered your query.

What would the ultrasound of the abdomen be for? Also, I read that the Lipitor and Tricor when taken together can cause serious muscle and weakness problems, aling with Liver damagewith this combination therapy.

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound of abdomen can be done for assessing fat deposition in liver.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Ultrasound of abdomen can be done for assessing fat deposition in liver.

Atorvastatin may cause liver damage and muscle pain to some patients, but liver damage can be monitored by SGPT estimation .
It is not related to combination therapy. In fact,it is very effective in controlling altered lipid profile.
If there is any problem then dose can be managed.
