Brief Answer:
Its stem cell therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

What is your mothers diagnosis and how severe is it?
Regenexx therapy is a newer therapy and is still in developmental stage. It means that we put stem cells in the patient and expect it to regenerate the damaged cartilage. Whether it should be tried or not, it depends on the mobility of the knees. If your mother has good mobility without much pain and she is able to do her basic work, I think such experimental things should not be tried.

If knee replacement cannot be avoided, then stem cell therapy can be tried. In research its results are mixed. It means that it may not cure the issue in all patients. Issues like compatibility of stem cells (not much issue if ones own bone marrow is tapped), reactions and high price are to be addressed. It is still not the standard of treatment for knee pain.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
