Is HIV 4th Generation Test Done 7 Weeks After Exposure Conclusive?

Posted on Tue, 13 Dec 2016
Question: Dear Doctor,

How are you . I hope you remember me. I had posted my question earlier too . I had an unprotected oral sex with a female I was only receiving. And then got a HIV 4th generation test done after 7 weeks from exposure and results came negative. You did consult me and told no further test are required. However, my worries were more and got a HIV western blot test along with it I also got a STP panel test done after 9 weeks from my exposure and all my results came negative. I'm still worried since I had been reading lot of things online and just few days back I saw a small pimple like near my groin area I'm not sure if it's swollen lymph . It does not hurt also. To me it looks like pimple but still very worried can you please suggest that the Western blot test that I did after 9 weeks is it accurate.

Brief Answer:
Your test results are confirmatory.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back and thanks for posting your further concern.

I hope this mail finds you in good health.

As I guided you before that your kind of exposure is not a mode of HIV infection and accordingly there was no need of any further tests. In my clinical experience I have never found even a single case of HIV infection after oral sex.

Adding to the same your western blot test also confirms your negative status. So you should not at all be worried about any chance of HIV infection. Western blot at 9 weeks is most conformatory and requires no further confirmation.

The type of swelling you have mentioned is not a finding in HIV and don't find such kind of lymph node swelling in HIV.

I further reassure you and guide you to not to search any thing else on Internet. It is because of the fact that Internet is full of genuine and false information. Many a times we read these false information and get tensed which leads to so many of mental stress states.

So allay all your fears for HIV and relax yourself.

I hope this helps.
