Is Gluconorm Safe To Be Taken While Breastfeeding?

Question: I had my baby on 8th October. i was prediabetic before i got pregnant and was on metformin. I had gestation diabetes during pregnancy
I had my sugar tested last week and it was 108 fasting and 153 pp so doctor has prescribed me Gluconorm 500 SR
i am a bit concerned. Does it not affect my baby if k zm breastfeeding or is it safe?

Tab Gluconorm contains Metformin.
There is adequate scientific evidence which allow use of metformin in pregnancy as well as during lactation period.

Metformin though secreted in breast milk, there is no evidence stating that metformin is harmful for baby.

Actually there are beneficial effect on baby's metabolism which may help to prevent or postpone development of diabetes in future.
