Question: Is Betadine gargle are best Sore throat? i do not like normal salt gargle but betadine gargles are costly too.Please suggest

Sore throat has various causes, and treatment varies from disease to disease as well as person to person..

Betadine mainly contains povidone iodine which acts as a germicidal that's why preferred in most of the occasions..

Now I don't know where have you searched for it , but standard price of a Betadine gargle solution of 50-100 ml is around 65-75 INR only (please remember there are several brands available in the market so you've to mention the price range to the pharmacist that you're looking for)..

Alternatively you can try CHLORHEXIDINE mouth wash which is even cheaper (under 50 INR) but once again, different brands are available so you need to mention your budget to the pharmacist so that he/she can provide the appropriate one for you..
