Brief Answer:
Blood pressure is normal. Please get lipid profile test done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Hoping that you have confirmed your high blood pressure status after getting clinical examination done. High blood pressure is diagnosed if a person has a persistent high blood pressure recording of more than 140/ 90 mm Hg when recorded on 3 consecutive days at the same time and in the same position after taking 30 minutes of physical and mental rest.

Even at home, you must record your blood pressure after 30 minutes of rest.

High blood pressure is usually a chronic medical condition and treatment is to be taken for life. You can also try to take the lowest medication dose and control your blood pressure by taking no extra salt in diet and doing 30 minutes of yoga or exercises every day alternately. I hope this too has been discussed with your doctor.

The blood pressure recording of 115-135/ 75-90 mm Hg is perfectly normal. Pulse between 90 and 100 is also normal.

Please also consult a cardiologist and get lipid profile test done to know if you have high cholesterol in your blood. It is better to get a complete heart check up done because high blood pressure also affects the heart.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Dr. XXXXXXX

thank you so much for your detailed answer. Now it's clear that i don't need to worried much about my BP readings. But my pulse is crossing 100 at times reaching 106 or so, and am feeling anxiety. I am unable to understand whether the pulse is raising due to anxiety or the other way around. Please do let me know is it also fine if my pulse exceeds 100 a little at times. When i was diagnosed hypertension i got the required tests done like ECG, 2D Echo, Lipid Profile etc..and the Doctor said all the reports are normal at that time.

please suggest!!

Brief Answer:
Pulse rate above 100 per minute momentarily is acceptable.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

Since you are still young and the rest of reports are normal, you can get complete check up done once in two years.

For the pulse rate, I suggest you get it counted when completely relaxed and by your family member or close friends. A pulse below 100 is always normal. If it exceeds 100 momentarily then it is acceptable. If it is always above 100 then it might be stress related anxiety or your thyroid function tests might need to be done.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
