Question: 15 days ago I was diagnosed with Helicobacter Pylori. I was given medicines,Lansoprazole 30 mg, Amoxicillin 500 mg, and Clarithromycin 500 mg' to take four in the morning and four in the evening for fourteen days. Today is the fifteenth day and I still feel chills. The nausia is almost all gone as I can eat now without feeling like throwing up. I plan to call my doctor to see what he says I should do. Thank you for your response.

Brief Answer:
Continue with Lansoprazole

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question

I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

Even if the tripple treatment has finished you should still continue to take lansoprazole until it clears the ulcer or gastritis (whatever you have been diagnosed with and caused by Helicobacter). In general it is 6-8 weeks, but it can be up to 12 weeks. Also, it is important to continue be careful with the diet- no spicy or fried foods, avoid acidic foods, ect.

Also the chills may be from another virus that you may have gotten meanwhile...what other symptoms you may develop, will give us more clues if that is the case.

Hope this is helpful.
