Question: My little girl had a hand injury.. she broke her thumb..dislocated it and had to have an operation.. the doctor said it was very badly dislocated .. she had a pin.. what time of healing time would you expect and what type of physiotherapy would you expect

After a pin insertion for thumb fixation, it takes 3-4 weeks for the thumb to heal completely. After that the physiotherapy is needed for 2-3 weeks to restore all the joint movements.
There can be some stiffness and swelling after the surgery. This will gradually reduce by hot compress and physiotherapy.
