How Long Does The Fever Take To Resolve Upon Treatment?

Question: My wife has had a fever for two days. The fever has fluctuated from 37.5 to 39.1 Celsius. She has a sore throat along with aches and pains. She has been prescribed XXXXXXX clindamycin. She has been taking tylenol to help with the fever and sore throat. When will the fever break?

I share your concerns about your wife's illness. Your wife is having fever due to throat infection. So once throat infection is brought down, her fever will also stop. Generally three to five days are required to cure throat infection. So I would advise you to wait for few more days.

However I would suggest following to hasten the recovery process
Saline warm water gargles 5 to 6 times a day
Take plenty of water
Good nutritious diet with more citrus fruits content
Can add decongestants along with current medicines
