How Long Does It Take For Follicle Rupture Post A HCG Shot?

Question: Hi Doctor XXXXXXX XXXX,

My latest prolactin label is 53. As I told you earlier,I was on clomid but later I got to know about high prolactin. Now it is 15th day and folicular reports says that my egg size is 18...which has not increased after 13th day. I took hcg 5000 at 10.30pm on 28th. Now after more than 35 hrs...the egg has not been ruptured. What to do...I m taking silandafil and estradial also for lining but endometrium has also stuck up at 6.7mm. Which was never so bad before this time.
Kindly guide me how and when the egg will rupture and do I need to take more hcg...what to do with the lining ????

My husband has to travel abroad.

Hi,

It will take about 36 to 40 hours for the egg to rupture and I suggest you repeat an ultrasound scan tomorrow to identify if the egg has ruptured.

As of now continue estradiol and sildenafil as nothing much can be done at this stage. It is likely to improve before implantation of embryo.

I hope you are taking medicines for high prolactin.

Hi doc, thanks for reply.

Yes I am already taking .5mg cabergolin. Till now I have taken 3 tabs in last 15 days. Can I take more cabergolin today to lower the prolactin so that ovulation can happen today ?

Since I m taking so many harmones....my stomach has bloated like hell. Kindly guide can I take dalcolux to clear my stomach ??
I shall be going for ultrasound today in evening to check the ovulation.

No need to take more cabergolin

Hi,

You dont need to take anymore cabergolin. Please repeat serum prolactin to know the status.

High prolactin levels are not related to ovulation and hence no need to take cabergolin.

Dont take dulcolax now. Have more water and eat more vegetables.

Hi doc,

I went for ultrasound just now. It says size 27x 16mm abalone ovum.endomerium 6.7mm only. In the morning the size was 18.4mm. I could not understand the report. How come the size has changed. The radiologist says that ablong egg is not good. I m so confused.

I have heaviness and pain on the right overy side.

Change in shape with increased size and pain suggest that you have started ovulating.

If you repeat ultrasound scan tomorrow evening, you can see ovulation.
