But, again the fever comes between 99 and 100 degree F on the next day. This situation is continuing for past 5 days now. Please suggest.

Brief Answer:
What are other symptoms besides fever?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Occasionally a viral flu (which is the most common cause) may lasts for 5-7 days and gradually subside. However there are other known causes of fever. Based on the limited information given I do not have any clue as to what could be causing fever. Can you elaborate if you have any other symptoms associated with fever:
1. Do you have runny nose, throat pain, cough, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea?
2. Do you have body aches, weakness, tiredness?
3. Do you have any problems passing urine?
4. Did you develop fever abruptly?
5. How is your apetite?
6. Are you losing weight gradually? How much did you weight a few months ago, say 3 months ago when compared to now?
7. Any other unusual symptoms noticed?

Try to answer to as many questions if not all. It will allow me to direct you better.

Regards

Hi Doctor,
Thanks a lot for your reply doctor. Here are my answers:

1. Do you have runny nose, throat pain, cough, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea? - No runny nose, no throat pain, no cough but, a little bit sputum, no abdominal pain, no vomiting, no nausea, no diarrhea

2. Do you have body aches, weakness, tiredness? - I had a little bit headache for initial 2 days and pain in left leg on first day when I felt fever. Now, there is no pain. There is a little bit weakness but, not much. I feel almost 90% normal.

3. Do you have any problems passing urine? - No

4. Did you develop fever abruptly? - I noticed a little bit headache and pain in left leg along with little bit tiredness on 4th Aug evening and checked my temperature and found it to be around 99.4 degree F, That's how it started 5 days back

5. How is your apetite? - Normal

6. Are you losing weight gradually? How much did you weight a few months ago, say 3 months ago when compared to now? - I had gained around 5 KGs in last 1 year and hence started gym in for the past 2-3 months and did a bit diet control as well. I have lost 2.5 KGs approx due to this diet control and gym in past 2.5 months. I am not doing heavy gym, mainly cardio and small weights for approx thrice a week

7. Any other unusual symptoms noticed? - Nothing so far

Looking forward to your suggestions. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Wait for couple of days...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your symptoms are more in favour of a viral infection. Besides fever, all other symptoms seems like improving. Therefore I think this fever should also settle down in a day or two. I will encourage you to drink plenty of fluids. You may also add plenty of fresh fruits especially citrus fruits. This will aid in faster recovery. You could also start vitamin C like tab limcee one tablet a day for a week.

If fever persist despite these options, I will recommend you visit a local physician for further evaluation and tests.

Hope this helps you in faster recovery.

Regards

Hi Doctor,
thanks again.
Shall I continue taking one crocin per day (sometimes half twice in a day) which I am taking right now? Pls suggest.

Also, shall I take something for the little sputum which I am having? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
1 crocin whenever required...

Detailed Answer:
Apologies for the late reply...

You may take 1 tab of crocin as and when required if there is fever.

As far as sputum is concerned, since you have no cough I do not think it needs attention. However if it is severe and affecting your daily activities, you may take TUS Q chewable tablets.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any other information.
