Hi, I Recently Met A 24 Year Old British Girl

Question: Hi, I recently met a 24 year old British girl and had oral sex and finger play: She was on her period (noticed blood on the bed) We also had penetrative sex with a condom.

However, i did 2 Vaginal thrusts without a condom (2/3 seconds and came to my senses)

7 days later I developed a sore throat and pus on my tonsils.

I have small spots on my tummy which developed 8/9days later but are now clearing.

My skin feels itchy.
Slight nausea (now gone)
Intermittent pain in lymph nodes (now gone)

It’s been 10 days now and my throat is better 90% and spots are easing but now have an upset tummy and lots of gas when I’m sitting.

I am concerned I could have contracted something (like hiv) I am very anxious usually and am scared.

Brief Answer:
Get std tests. Tonsills look much better.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

First of all the contact you had was risky because initially it was not protected and oral sex too which is risky and you didn't know the health situation of person you met.
This facts are enough for you to get STD test.
I see the photos you uploaded and tonsillitis were much red initially and after treatment are much better. This is not related to HIV or other STD issues.
Also I see the skin bumps and I can't relate them to STD. It is possible dermatitis.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi, I did not treat my tonsils. Can you confirm if the spots (they are like pimples) are related to HIV?

Also, is the window for HIV infection too soon(7days)? Could it also be another virus that have caused the spots, sore throat and painful lymph nodes ? If yes what could it be?

Brief Answer:
Viral infection possible, not related to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
The red tonsils, enlarged lymph nodes and the spots may probably be related to virus infection. I don't think they are related to HIV.
I think you are a bit early , you can get tested after 4 weeks.
So the symptoms you are experiencing may not be related to HIV. It is to early to experience symptoms.

Thanks. How soon would it be for HIV symptoms, my sore throat and chest spots were 7/8days after 2/3 seconds unprotected sex without a condom with a girl on her period. Is that too soon to show symptoms? I’m am so scared. What else could it be?

I kissed a another girl the following Friday, and on that Sunday (2 days) I developed rye sore throat. She mentioned she had a sore throat but no spots or fever previously. Could it be from that? I am so scared I have HIV.

Brief Answer:
Probably symptoms not related to HIV infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.

I don't relate the sore throat and bumps with HIV. It can be related to the viral infection which the first girl probably had.

You may wait for 4 weeks before doing an STD test.

Why is it not related ? What I read it says sore throat and rash? I also had a fever on Tuesday for 1 day.

Brief Answer:
No symptoms yet

Detailed Answer:
The sore throat, fever, and rash aren't necessarily signs of contracting HIV. They can be caused by any viral infection.

Contracting HIV may not give symptoms at all that early.

Is it too early to develop the symptoms for HIV after 7days and is my risk low after 2 thrusts of unprotected sex (3/3 seconds) with a girl on her period ? I had a fever on the 9th day. Feel better now 14 days, slight upset tummy still. What other virus could it be ? I don’t have a runny nose or blocked nose.

Brief Answer:
Influenza is possible.

Detailed Answer:
OK. You are not experiencing HIV symptoms.
Influenza virus may be possible.
Your risk isn't low and still exists so do an STD test 4 weeks after exposure.

Brief Answer:
Initially HIV has not specific symptoms but just like common viral infectio

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
1. HIV may not have any symptoms at all in first days after getting the infection. The symptoms are the same of any other type of viral infection such fever, chills, sore throat, rash etc. The fact that you are having these symptoms doesn't mean that you got infected.
2. These symptoms usually occurs within two weeks and 7 days are a bit early to occur.
3. The red spots may be caused by other viral infection, varicella for example which also can cause fever, sore throat, muscle pain, tiredness etc.
