Question: Hello Doctor,
Happy New year.
I was scratched by street dog on 30th Night and went to Safdarjung hospital emergency.
They have given Abhyapur ARV in arm. I am worried as the doctor took the medicine from the container which was I guess use to preserve ice ( what I can think off) and lots of already Pre- filled injections were there. I am worried how that will maintain the accuracy of the vaccination as it was clearly written on the Medicines that it should be consumed immediately after reconstitution.
Also my second day dose is tomorrow- can you please tell me can I take from local store near my house and get it done by any doctor nearby, I live in XXXXXXX Or should I got back to XXXXXXX I am afraid how local shops keeps this medicine safe in fridge, I have many thoughts like what if they are not maintaing proper temperature of the vaccination in Fridge or what if they are not keeping it proper and I'll die of rabies. Please advise.

Sorry for a delayed reply. YOu should not worry about the efficacy of the vaccine you got yesterday. However if you have doubts I suggest you can get the further doses on Day 3, Day 7, Day 14 doses at XXXXXXX at any doctor whom you trust locally.
The vaccine is only stored in refrigirator or cold storage boxes only. This would still maintain the cold chain that is required by the vaccine to preserve the efficacy. So it is common to find the vaccines in any local store in a fridge or ice storing containers.
Please do not doubt the efficacy of the just given dose.

I requested her to please check the air bubble; she said small bubble would not hurt if any. I am very afraid after this incident.
Wouldn't air embolism will be dangerous. I read any air embolism can cause stroke or heart attack. It's almost 24 hours past this incident, Please guide me how long after air embolism if no symptoms have occurred, we can say we are safe 100%.
I'll go to private clinic now as I am not comfortable with Govt Hospital staff careless attitude.

I apologize for asking to many questions but I guess that is the only platform where I can share my feeling and thoughts which are making me worrying.
Could you please help in following things more.
1. I got cold and cough recently, Is it safe to continue on Rabies vaccination while on Cold and cough. I don't have fever though.
2. As there are many brands and manufactures of Rabies Vaccination, Can It be possible due to human/technical errors that virus which supposed to be inactive in rabies vaccination can remain active and can actually expose patient to rabies virus. there are many fake medicines also in market.
