Have Dry Patches On Scalp Causing Itching And Dandruff. Not Cured By Homoeopathic Treatment. Effective Remedy?
Question: I am facing problem of round dry patches on the scalp,on the front of the head at the back near the neck and near ears,they cause itching and dandruff,have been facing this problem since had chicken pox 2 years back tried a lot of shampoos and homeopathic treatment did not work?
what is this problem and how can it be treated?help out pleasewhen i had chicken pox it affected my face and scalp majorly.Could it be the reason for this problem?

These round dry scaly patches on scalp causing itching and dandruff could be of seborrheic dermatitis. Another possibility could be scalp psoriasis.
The treatment remains the same,
Use an antifungal and tar based shampoo like keraglo AD thrice in a week. Apply it over scalp, leave it for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse hair
Use a steroid lotion like beclomethasone lotion or mometasone lotion in night over these patches.
If the lesions are too itchy, take tablet cetirizine
Do not oil scalp excessively. Use warm olive oil over scalp just once a week.
With in two to three weeks, your lesions should clear off. Once the lesions are gone, discontinue steroid lotion and use medicated shampoo only once in a week.

Psoriasis is characterised by well defined red lesions covered with thick silvery scales
Seborrheic dermatitis is characterised by greasy oily pale yellow scales with red bumps and itching over scalp.
Scales with reddish brownish dot just shows that it was adherent over scalp. The differentiation between them is only possible on clinical examination of the lesion.
