Brief Answer: Detailed answer given below Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for posting your query. I am Dr.Ratnakar Kini and I am pleased to assist you. Your scan report says your liver is scarred and is in the early phase of cirrhosis ( scarring and shrinking of liver). If it is due to alcohol intake it is to some extent reversible during the early phase (cirrhosis is considered irreversible. But studies have shown early cirrhosis due to alcohol may be reversible if treated early). I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr.Ratnakar Kini

Brief Answer: Detailed answer given below Detailed Answer: Hi, In men, drinking 40- 80 g of alcohol everyday is risky. (One drink of whisky contains 13.4 g of alcohol and 1 drink of whisky is about 1.5 oz). If it is due to alcohol intake only and not due to any other cause, then stopping alcohol will stop its progression. It takes about 10-12 years of drinking for cirrhosis to develop. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr.Ratnakar Kini
