Question: Hi
Need a urgent advice!
My last period was on 29th XXXXXXX I had unprotected sex with my fiance on 7th July and took a I-pill on 8th. I had no side effects of the pill. I again had sex on 18th July and took a I-pill on 19th. I had withdrawal bleeding on 24th July till 27th July. My expected period was on 29th July. I did a home pregnancy test on 8th and on 18th August both of which were negative. I still haven't got my periods yet it's 27th August today! I am not experiencing any serious symptoms as well just noticing some white-yellowish discharge. Could I be pregnant? How long more do I wait for my periods?

Thank you in advance

Brief Answer:
Higly unlikely to be pregnant

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I have read your query with diligence.

You had the withdrawal bleeding on 24 July till 27 July.

In my view, your menstrual cycle is just prolonged a bit due to ipill use twice in the last month. Nothing to worry; you should soon get your periods.

I do not think you are pregnant. Please wait for a week starting from 24 August. This means to say you have to wait until 31 of August. If you do not get your periods by 1 or 2nd of September 2013, then you may repeat the urine pregnancy test.

I hope this is clear to you. Let me know if you have more queries.

Take care!

Thank you so much! Felt much better after reading the answer.

I did a urine pregnancy test again yesterday. The result was negative but I am still a bit worried since its been a long time now that I haven't got my periods.

Could you suggest me some medication which I could take in order to get my periods ASAP because I am really stressed out right now. The medication that is available in the pharmacy without any prescription.

Doctor do you think I should visit a gynaecologist?

Brief Answer:
Provera

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I do not think you are pregnant. The repeat test also says the same. Please do not worry.

There are medications like Provera that can be taken for withdrawal bleeding. However, it is a prescription drug. It is not available over the counter.

Yes, you should visit a Gynecologist for the same.

Take care!
