Question
Are there any controlled studies using "Natural/herbal" progesterone vs. synthetic progesterone?
How many women are currently taking progesterone?
When did progesterone supplementation begin?
What does progesterone control?
What controls the natural release of progesterone in the body?
Are medicines and supplements like wine, meaning the quality is dependent on where the ingredients were harvested from (soil) and how they are manufactured?
Does the FDA regulate any supplements?
What is the best source for valid information for the outcomes of controlled medication/supplement studies, if any?
thank you.

Brief Answer:
progesterone
Detailed Answer:
Hi, there are no studies for herbal versus synthetic progesterone. Currently lakhs of women spread over many continents of world consume progesterone but exact numbers difficult to tell. Progesterone suppliments increased in last 2 decades rapudly. Progesterone increases endometrial thickness to support pregnancy. Normal progesterone secretion in body is by regular egg release in ovary and corpus luteum formation. Progesterone has nothing to do with natural contents as in wine or soil. All suppliments are controlled and registered by FDA. You can always ask your doctor for more information after checking internet. Regards, Dr. Mahesh Koregol
