Brief Answer:
Long term use of Betanif is not responsible for her osteoarthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Good afternoon.
I appreciate your concern for your beloved mother.

Betanif is a combination of medicines for the treatment of high BP, its long term use is not associated with the recently diagnosed osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis is a type of degenerative joint disease most commonly caused by aging, obesity or trauma.

It seems the medicine Betanif is not effective in controlling her BP even after taking its double dose.
I recommend her to be seen by her treating physician to find out the possible causes of refractory treatment and use of an additional but more effective medicine like Losartan or Enalapril.

Should you need more clarification please feel free to send the follow-up query.
Wishing your mother a very good health.
