Question: hi doctor,,,,,
i got a bit on 13th morning at 3am from domestic mouse, although i noticed no bleeding and wound there. so i went for sleep; morning i had my bath and in evening, checked it again with doc.. he also not observed any clear scare / stratch but gave me shot of xprab. i had tetanus shot last month...so we skipped it. i had my second shot on 16th afternoon and next is due tomorrow. but i am worried about as site of bite is back so what is the possibility of getting infection. also after vaccination i had mild temperature, and i don't know even cold and sneezing,...is it related. my mouth got some bad taste..as i have a history of anxiety and disgestion issue too..; i am bit afraid is it usual or due to some infection. plz guide.

Brief answer....there no need to worry.
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
You see first of all domestic rats don't cause rabies at all.
Secondly you have taken anti rabies vaccination which is double protection to you, hence question of rabies doesn't arise at all.
As far as your fever and cold is concerned,it is due to viral infection.
You are relating it to rabies because of your anxiety and fear.
Just relax,forget and enjoy.
Complete your vaccination schedule.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Hello,
Take all 5 shots.
Rat bite fever is very rare and symptoms occur around 2-10 days after bite.
Symptoms include chills,fever,body ache,muscle ache,vomiting etc.
I don't think you are going to have it,however be on look out for it.
At the moment nothing is to be done except wait and watch..
Thanks
