Does Sulfamethoxazole Interact With Digoxin And Losartan?
Question: Hi doctor. I am currently undergoing treatment in my feet for infection/ circulation problems. I have had two toes amputated recently. My foot is swelling and red and I wanted to take sulfamethox/t. However I also have a heart condition. Am taking digoxin and losartan. Can I take the antibiotic while on those heart medications or are there contraindications?

Better to avoid. Levofloxacin does not have this effect and may be a better option.
