Brief Answer:
Tinnitus is not documented side effect of prozac

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX leesa
Thanks for using HCM.
I am Dr Rakesh Sharma answering your query.
As you may be knowing tinnitus is just a symptom not a disease but it does make the person uncomfortable.
There are no documented proof of Prozac causing tinnitus as yet.
But I have gone through your history with us here in HCM, it does mention that you were on Lorazepam before Prozac. There are few of my patients reporting Tinnitus caused by withdrawal of Lorazepam.
The other causes of Tinnitus are 1.noise induced 2. Ear infection 3. wax in ears
4.stress also has been reported as a cause.
Possibility of these causes can also be explored.
If reducing dose of Prozac will not affect your symptom then it can be tried in consultation with your treating doctor.
Hope you have answer to you query, if you have any more please post it in HCM.
Or you can rate this answer and close the question.
Have a good day.
